New Delhi: Nearly a year after the shocking rape and murder of a student at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the city saw another disturbing case. Speaking of the incident, the RG car victim’s father repeatedly expressed anger over crimes, convicted the state government led by Mamta Banerjee, and demanded strict punishment for the accused.A woman law student was allegedly gang -raped inside her college in Kasba area of South Kolkata on Wednesday evening, causing fresh concern about the safety of women in the city.Annie news agency quoted her saying, “Such incidents are happening frequently. What happened to my daughter, many people came out on the streets in protest. Even after that, such incidents happen. People inside the college are fulfilling such incidents. The government has an important role in this, which is why all three people should be arrested. The accused should be severely punished. ,The BJP also reacted strongly. In a post on X, the party stated that TMC stands for “Terror, Molester and Corruption”.TMC leader Shashi Panj replied that she was deeply upset with the incident. He defended the police action and criticized the BJP for politicizing the issue.He said, “There was an immediate postmortem and dissection to see names and religion. You have to condemn the incident. Now you are trying to show pictures. Trinumool Congress student wing students are not teaching students to rape. The police took immediate action. He has named the accused. It is taken seriously. The BJP cannot even think that the way the Kolkata Police took action. He started malicious after the disappearance of such rapid action in BJP ruled states. If they want to live in Bengal as a responsible protest, they will have to behave responsibly. ,According to the police, the attack took place on Wednesday between 7:30 pm and 10:50 pm inside the Law College building. One of the accused allegedly raped the student, while the other assisted the crime.The three accused are Monojit Mishra (31), Zib Ahmed (19), and Pramat Mukhopadhyay (20). The three were either alumni or employees in the college.The victim’s family lodged a police complaint, and the authorities on Thursday arrested Monoj and Zub near the Tabgun Crossing. Prati was arrested later that night at his house.The police confiscated the accused’s mobile phone and kept the crime site under security for forensic tests.
