CCPA to issue guidelines

For compliance with law and protection of consumer interests, guidelines for prevention and regulation of illegal sales and licensed frequency range wireless telegraphy equipment, including walkie-talkies on e-commerce platforms, will soon be placed on the website of the Department of Consumer Affairs for public comments/suggestions/response. CCPA has also sent a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Telecommunications to search for its valuable input to the Department of Telecommunications in this regard.   • Ensure proper hard work by platforms before listing such products;
  • Verification of seller credentials and certification;
  • Automatic monitoring and introduction of the takedown mechanisms for unauthorized listing;
  • Promote consumer awareness through proper revelations; And
  • Apply penalty and stage liability in case of non-non-non-non-approval
