NEW Delhi: The Parliamentary Committee on Transport has called the Civil Aviation Secretary Sameer Kumar Sinha and Boeing officials to appear before security concerns.Summons two weeks after the deadly air accident in Ahmedabad, which claimed a life of 241 out of 242 on the board.
‘Data extraction from black box’
The government announced on Thursday said that data extraction is going on from the black box of Air India aircraft involved in the Ahmedabad accident. The analysis of the Cockpit Voice Records (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) aims to re -organize the sequence of leading events for tragic accidents.The Ministry of Civil Aviation said that a day after the accident, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) immediately launched an investigation, with a multi -kattle team under the leadership of AAIB Director General, GVG Yugandhar. The team consists of aviation medicine, air traffic control (ATC) specialist, and representatives of the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), who are part of the International Protocol as part of the International Protocol due to Boeing’s aircraft.The crash protection module of the front black box was recovered on 13 June and the rear module from the debris on 16 June. Both were safely taken to the AAIB laboratory in Delhi under heavy security on 24 June, with constant police security and CCTV monitoring at the storage site.Aaib Lab, inaugurated earlier this year, is currently analyzing data to identify the contribution factors and increase future aviation security. The Ministry emphasized that all the works have fully complied with domestic laws and international obligations under ICAO Chicago Convention and related rules.Meanwhile, a high-level committee headed by the Union Home Secretary is reviewing the cause of the accident and developing comprehensive security guidelines to prevent such incidents in future.
