New Delhi: Congress leader Jeram Ramesh on Sunday swipe into Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he started his three-nation trip to Cyprus, Canada and Croatia.In a post on social media platform X, Ramesh made fun of PM Modi’s supporters, claiming that he would refuse a G7 invitation, even though it was introduced, when it was hesitant to expand one in Canada. “When it appears that Canada was pulling his feet at an invitation to India, Mr. Modi’s drums announced that he would not go even when he was invited. But as usual, he is revealed”He recalled the PM’s earlier comments compared to the Indo-Canada relations compared to the algebraic formula (A+B) of, saying, “There was a time when he boasted about his knowledge of algebra by toning the equation of (A+B) applied to India and Canada.The Congress leader further criticized Modi’s foreign tour count, saying that it marks his 35th foreign journey since May 2023, yet the PM has not met anyone from Manipur.He said, “He has not met anyone from the state, to political leaders alone, since May 3, 2023. PM’s pathetic to treat Manipur in a terrible way.”Moving forward for Modi’s G7 participation, Ramesh said that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney had invited India as the fifth largest economy in the world. He said, “Perhaps Mr. Modi may remind him that according to the CEO of Neeti Aog, India became the third largest economy in the world on May 24, 2025.”Meanwhile, PM Modi left for Cyprus on Sunday, closed his three-nation diplomatic tour.In a departure statement, the Prime Minister said that the yatra would “build on historical bonds and expand our relations in the fields of trade, investment, security, technology and promote people’s exchange of people.”He is scheduled to attend the G7 Summit in Canada, Canada from 16–17 June, followed by an Indian Prime Minister for the first time after a visit to Croatia on 18 June. There, he will meet President Joran Milanovioc and Prime Minister Andrez Plankovioc to find out the new areas of cooperation.
