‘He was blindly emotional’: PM Modi told who told the victim Shubam Dwivedi of the Pahgam attack

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held an emotional meeting with the family of a 31 -year -old businessman Shubam Dwivedi, who was among those killed in the April 22 terror attack in Pahgam, while visiting Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.PM Modi, while meeting Shubam’s family at Kanpur Airport, expressed his condolences and assured full government support.According to Shubam’s wife, PM Modi told the family that the fight against terrorism is for a long race and will continue.“He (Prime Minister) expressed his condolences and said that he is standing with the whole family. He said that it was not only on his behalf, but from the whole nation. He was visually emotional – you could see it in your feelings. Even he came to my father, he placed his hand on his shoulder, and said, “We are all with you,” said Shubam’s wife.He said, “The first thing he said that the fight against terrorism is going to be long, and it will move forward.”During the meeting, Shubam’s wife also told the Prime Minister that terrorists are trying to divide India on religious lines.“I told him that they were trying to divide us on the religious lines. I did not need to say directly to say that they were killing on the basis of religion – everyone already knew. I said that those Pakistani terrorists came and asked our religion before killing us. They wanted to divide us internal internal between Hindus and Muslims,” he said.He said, “He said that we will meet again, and we will continue the conversation or whatever steps need to move forward,” he said.The meeting was held after the request from Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi, who immediately wrote to the Prime Minister’s Office in search of time for the bereaved family.Shubam, who recently married on 12 February, was visiting Besaran Meadow in Pahgam with his wife and sister -in -law, when the terrorists set fire to unarmed tourists. He was shot in the head and died on the spot. A total of 26 people including a Nepali National were killed in the attack.Since his death, Shubam’s family has been appealing to the government to recognize him as a martyr. ANI said to a family member, “Our son was tragically killed in a terrorist attack … just targeted to be a Hindu.” “We sincerely hope that during his visit, the Prime Minister will declare that Shubam will be officially honored as a martyr.”
