The 47 -year -old Illinois woman, Mindi Rasmusen, visited Pakistan to meet her 31 -year -old lover, Sajid Zeb Khan, from whom she met and fell in love with her. The American woman has gone viral for her Chicago to the upper dior lover story that has support the two families. Mindi met Sajid online a year ago through Facebook and reached Pakistan on a 90 -day travel visa earlier this month. Pakistani media reported that Rasmusen converted to Islam and adopted the new name Julekha as he completed his marriage with Sajid. Sajid said that Mindi had no force to travel to Pakistan and convert to Islam – neither from him nor his family. “She is a mature woman who is able to make her choice. We are tying the knot of our independent desire, “Sajid told The Dawn. Mindi said that she informed her family members with her father, elder sister and younger brother that she was going to Pakistan to marry a man in which she was found online. They all supported the decision and were excited. The American woman said it was the first visit to Pakistan and was welcomed by Sajid with flowers at the Isalabad International Airport. He then traveled to Dyer, where he was warmly welcomed with his family members and neighbors. “This is my first visit to Pakistan, and I must say that it is a beautiful and peaceful country,” she said, as quoted by the Pakistani media. “I expect anything that I have experienced by kindness and hospitality.” Mindi also told the Pakistani media that it would encourage other foreigners to visit Pakistan and find out its culture, hospitality and beauty.Mindi said that her husband Sajid is a loving and humble person whose honesty and respect took her closer to her.
