The Food and Drug Administration Department has suspended the operating license of a Zapto warehouse in Dharavi after discovering major food security violations. During an FDA inspection, the convenience was operated under unhealthy conditions.According to a TOI report, Assistant Commissioner (Food), Anupama Patil said, “The convenience was kept with others as well as exposed items. They have destroyed those products.”
What were the top violations by Zepto’s warehouse?

- Additionally, many objects were placed on moist, uneven floor.
- Temperature-controlled storage facilities failed to follow the required standards.
In response, the company has said that it will implement measures to remove these shortcomings.

The food safety license will remain suspended until the zepto does not show that it meets all the necessary safety standards. Joint Commissioner (Food) Mangesh Mane said, “The facility will be closed until the contraceptive is cleaned,” Joint Commissioner (Food) Mangesh Mane said, given that additional investigation will be done in other Jepto facilities and similar quick-distribution services.A Zepto representative replied, “… we have started an internal review and are working closely with the officials concerned to ensure complete and fast compliance.” The organization confirmed that it is implementing the changes required to address issues and resume operations within legal requirements.

In January, FDA officials examined three firms accused of selling medicines without appropriate license through online delivery. The inspections were carried out in the Folklo Technologies in Thane, the Bhagwati Store in Condivali and Scooty (Swigi) in Malad.
