House panel flag concerns on data quality to assess JJM performance. Bharat News

New Delhi: A parliamentary panel has cleared its concerns on the authenticity of the data being fed in the Water Life Mission (JJM) Integrated Management Information System (IMIS), given that the quality of the information uploaded is required to fill the visible interval in the ambitious plan to provide the quality of the functional tap water of every rural household in the country.Panel – BJP Lok Sabha MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, under the chairmanship of Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Permanent Committee on Water Resources – In its report on Monday, in 2023, in 2023, the absence of annual evaluation of the functionality of tap water connections noticed.The annual evaluation of functionality is important to ensure long -term sources and system stability and corrective measures by states/UTS based on its findings.“Being aware of the fact that the actual truth of the information uploaded is necessary to feel the real ground status and fill the visible intervals, the committee reiterates its recommendation that the department (of drinking water and hygiene) makes an honest effort to ensure the authenticity of data being fed on IMI,” Report has been stated in the report.While the panel noticed that the department has cited several steps taken by it for monitoring and monitoring water quality, notes that Govt has not given “specific answers” when detection of the truth uploaded by states/UTS on JJM-EISIS.On the absence of the annual assessment, on the observation of the panel, the government, in its reply, told the committee that the department had received the final report of the functionality assessment survey.It said that the department’s approval is in the final stages and will soon be released and shared with the states for the expected course improvement.Launched in August 2019, JJM was to cover all 19.32 crore (almost) rural houses in the country by 2024. However, its deadline has now increased by 2028.
