How can Bank Open Locker Sans Holder Node be: High Court | Bharat News

Dehradun: Uttarakhand HC on Tuesday asked a public sector bank to clarify the rules that allowed their authorities to open the locker’s locker without consent. According to Pankul Sharma’s report, it was listening to a case filed on the basis of a complaint by Sushila Devi (86), which alleged that her locker was opened in her absence in 2022 and the jewelery was removed.
Anoop Kumar, his son and co-holder of the locker, detected the crime after visiting the Bank of Badradun branch last year. Bank officials allegedly failed to give a satisfactory explanation for him, after which he filed an FIR against him. “My mother placed 730gm gold and 950 grams of silver jewelery in the locker,” he said. The court asked the bank how it planned to return the precious goods to the complainant.
A bob employee approached the court and demanded the evacuation of the cedar. Although the name was not named in the complaint, he was working in the branch on relevant time. His lawyer said that the locker was opened after several notices and reminders became unanswered, and that a list of precious goods was prepared and the material was sealed to the head office.
However, Locker’s co -holder Kumar said that he never received any such communication from the bank. “When I asked the bank officials to show me notice and letters, he said that documents and registers have also been done incorrectly,” he told TOI. He said that jewelry includes 21 jewelry “high emotional value”, some dating back by 1875.
He said, “Ramnawami in the locker had jewelry, gold buttons and a gold seal, passed through generations.” In January, an FIR was lodged at the Palanwala police station, alleging robbery by the concerned bank officials. During the court hearing, Justice Pankaj Purohit told the counsel of Bob Staff that when the account holder does not respond, the bank offers the staff to forcibly open a locker.
