2 months after vermilion, Rahim Yar Khan’s base still closed

New Delhi: Pakistan’s Rahim Yar Khan Airbase, who was killed by Indian missiles during Operation Sindoor two months ago, is still not on, a sign of damage to the strategic military establishment. Sources said that the Authority of Pakistan Airport has learned to issue another ‘notice’, aka ‘notem’ for its runway, which declares unusable by 5 August. The airbase, about 230 km south of Bahawalpur, holds a strategic place in Pakistan’s southern air defense due to India’s proximity to the Rajasthan border. The precise attacks by India in early May caused massive damage. In late May, PM Narendra Modi said at a rally in Bachner in Rajasthan that the airbase was in ‘ICU’.Located within the circumference of an international airport, the airbase issued the first notam on the evening of 10 May, which announced the runway non-conducting for a week (18 May), and later extended it. Notam was again released in early June, to close the airbase by 4 July. The latest notice stated that the runway is unavailable for flight operations due to “work in progress”.The airbase Pakistan Air Force serves as a forward operating base for the Central Command and was used for military purposes. Missiles fired at Rahm Yaar Khan Airbase caused a large -scale pit on their runway, a Pakistan District Commissioner told the local press in May. However, the disadvantage, clearly, was much larger than a pit because the airbase has been non-functional for more than two months.Apart from this airbase, Nur Khan Airbase was attacked simultaneously in Chakla, Rawalpindi, Rafiki Airbase at Sharkot in Punjab, Murid Airbase in Chakwal and Choonian Airbase in Punjab. Pakistan officials damaged transport aircraft in Noor Khan and technical facilities in Chunion.Similarly, Markz Subhan Allah terrorist camp in Bahawalpur has reduced for debris in air strike, Jaish-e-Muhammad has been closed indefinitely with brass in search of a new address, preferably in a densely populated area, sources said.
