Sanju Samson has seen a lot of special knocks in his career, but some have surprised him like a 14 -year -old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Talking to Ravichandran Ashwin on the off-spinner’s YouTube channel, Samson was asked to share his favorite cricketing memories-past and from recent times. For the past, he played two iconic innings: Sachin Tendulkar’s Desert Storm against Australia in 1998 and Brian Lara’s noted 400 against England in 2004.

But then he just moved forward, and the quality of the shots he was really surprised me.” Samson reflected on one of his own most memorable moments-the first time to captain Rajasthan Royals in high scoring chase against Punjabi Kings. 222 needed to win, he created a brilliant 119, but was rejected on the final ball when required five. Prior to that final delivery, he refused Chris Morris with a single, a decision that raised the debate at that time. “Although we lost the game, I knew that I took courage to do what I did.
