ICC launched a landmark initiative to support displaced Afghan women cricketers

New Delhi: In a major step to promote inclusion and opportunity in cricket, International cricketer council ,ICC) On Sunday announced the formation of a dedicated task force for displaced support Afghan women cricketersInitiative started in partnership with BCCI, ECB And Cricket AustraliaThe political turmoil is to provide overall assistance to the Afghan women athletes uprooted from their motherland due to the political upheaval.
The ICC will install a special fund to offer direct financial assistance, ensuring that these cricketers may continue to pursue their careers. In addition, a strong high performance program will provide access to elite coaching, world class features and personal mentarships.

ICC President J Shah said, “In the International Cricket Council, we are deeply committed to promoting inclusion and to ensure that every cricketer has an opportunity to shine regardless of his circumstances.” “In collaboration with our valuable partners, we are proud to launch this task force and support fund, which is complemented by a comprehensive high-demonstration program, to ensure that the displaced Afghan women cricketers can continue their journey in the game. This initiative reflects our strong dedication to inspire the global development and their power of cricket, which is to inspire unity, revival and hope.”
The ICC believes that the initiative will preserve the cricket career of women, strengthening the game’s ability as a force for unity and flexibility.
The board also approved the financial details of the audit of the ICC group for the year to end in 2024 and announced the Chief Committee appointments.
Following the recommendations of the Chief Executive Committee, the board confirmed the following appointments:
ICC Women’s Cricket Committee: Catherine Campbell (again appointed), Evril Fhi and Folatesi Moseki.
ICC Male Cricket Committee:Sourav Ganguly The Kursi and Hamid Hassan, Desmond Hens, Temba Bavuma, VVS Laxman (re -appointment) and Jonathan were re -appointed.
