If the initial national pole is not organized, it will be ‘difficult’ to cooperate: BNP to Younus

Dhaka: Former PM Khaleda Zia’s BNP on Tuesday warned Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus that the party would be “difficult” to continue its cooperation with the interim government if the initial election is not till 2025 December.This was warned after Yumns in a meeting with political parties including BNP, rejecting his demand for the initial election by December and chose his December 2025-June 2026 deadline, which was pending since last year after the fall of Sheikh Hasina-Headed Awami League government. “We demand an immediate announcement of a specific roadmap to create the next Parliament by December 2025,” Khandekar Mosharraf Hussain said at a press conference, a member of the BNP’s Standing Committee.He said that ensuring free and fair elections remained the top priority of the government as it reflects the highest aspiration of Bangladeshi people. “Otherwise, it would be difficult for BNP to continue their cooperation with this government,” Mosharraf said.
