Immediate investigation on 787 fleet of AI: Aviation Minister | Bharat News

New Delhi: An immediate security check is going on after the accident in Air India’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet on June 12, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said on Saturday, while promising “all necessary steps” to strengthen aviation security.Air India posted on X that the checks directed by DGCA are running in its 787s. The airline said, “The check on nine aircraft has been completed. We are on track to complete the remaining 24 within the regulator’s timeline.”AI warned of a possible delay on long -lasting routes due to extended turnaround time. The airline said, “Customers will be informed about any delay. They are advised to check the status of their flights before going to the airport.”Addressing its first presser since the tragedy, Naidu said that the Modi government had established a high-level committee under the leadership of Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan to investigate the accident and recommend long-term aviation security reforms. Modi announced the committee after visiting the accident site on Friday. Naidu said the panel would not intervene in the ongoing investigation, but would focus on systemic reforms to prevent future disasters.The airport accident investigation is conducting preliminary inquiry. The committee will work in parallel, identifying the root cause and contribution factors, including mechanical failure, human error, and regulatory laps. The panel will also draft updated SOP, which is a benchmark for international practices. Its report is scheduled to be held on 13 September.“Black box has been recovered,” Naidu said, decoding the data will be clear whether it went wrong.Union Aviation Secretary Sameer Sinha said that the same aircraft had come unevenly from Paris to Ahmedabad. He said, “On the Ahmedabad-Landan flight, the pilot gave the ATC a day after the take-off. The ATC replied, but there was no reply from the cockpit. It crashed 2 km from the airport,” he said.Meanwhile, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson announced, “Air India will also pay an interim of Rs 25 lakh for every family and survivor of the deceased. It is already Rs 1 crore made by Tata Sons.”
