Venezuela civil groups and several migrants have filed a federal case against American immigration agencies in the Boston federal court, accusing the Trump administration of abolishing the illegally temporary protected position (TPS) for Venezuela.Venezuela Association of Massachusetts, Democracy Forward and three migrants have filed a law suit against the Homeland Security Department (DHS), Customs and Border Security (CBP) and American Citizenship and Immigration and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Boston Federal Court. The plaintiff alleged that President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Christie NoM suddenly and illegally abolished TPS security, which was expanded under the former President Joe Biden.According to the plaintiff, in April, DHS sent a collective email to the TPS holders, stating, “This is the time for you to leave the United States.” He argues that many recipients have legitimate work permits and other documents that allow them to remain in the country and that TPS cancellation should be decided on the basis of case-case. They say that a sudden change disrupts life, career and puts people at risk of exile.“As a community-based organization, we have first damaged the fact that this sudden policy has been legally damaged, which is legally reached, complies with every DHS requirement, including the CBP forest process, and work hard to create stable lives for our families,” said Karlina Velzeches and Venjuelon Association of Venjuelon Association.Democracy Forward President Sky Periman called the decision part of the “attack on migrants who follow the rules”, describing it as “cruelty” to the weak people.Periman claimed, “I should be clear: none of it is about immigration, it is about cruelty and targeting of people in weak conditions.”“Our customers used CBP an app because DHS needed it. Now they have been threatened with their rights and threatened with exile, there is a gross violation of law and public trust.”For Venezuela, TPS was first given by former President Biden in 2021 due to human concerns over Venezuela’s political and economic crisis. The program was expanded in 2023 to cover around 350,000 additional migrants. After President Trump took over, NOEM canceled the 2023 expansion, which determines the proposal to cancel the TPS security. The policy has been the subject of many decisions of many courts. In April, Judge Edward Milton Chen temporarily blocked the termination, but the US Supreme Court overturned the order in May. Chen later ruled that the existing work permit could not be rendered to the retaliation. The appeal of the Trump administration is now before the ninth circuit court of appeals.DHS Assistant Secretary Trisia McLaglin dismissed the trial as a desperate attempt to illegally illegally malfunction up in the country and weakened the constitutional right of President Trump to implement America’s immigration laws. “He said, “The Biden administration misused its parole authority to create an industrial scale catch-and-relief scheme, and the Trump administration is correcting it,” he said.“This lawsuit is an insult to millions of Americans who gave this President a mandate to restore our immigration system and restore general knowledge.”
