New Delhi: The ongoing Undercantra of dissatisfaction in Karnataka Congress amidst DK Shivkumar’s Chief Minister ambitions and continuous leadership of CM Siddaramaiah attracted new attention on Sunday. This time from the pulpit of a major Lingayat seer.At a public event at Kanakpura taluk, Rambpuri Ser Rajeshikendra Shivachar openly supported Shivkumar’s dialect for more prominence, saying that the Congress state president was entitled to a high position after running a party for a spectacular victory in the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections.According to the news agency PTI, Sir said, “They should have got a high position after the last elections. May they could find a high position in the coming days.”This comment comes amidst constant speculation within political circles that the Congress high command can re-see a reported power-deception deal, which is often described as a “rotational CM Formula” between Siddaramaiah and Shivkumar. Although never officially confirmed, this formula was considered to be a mid-term leadership switch after two-and-a-half years.Addressing the gathering in the Siddheshwasaraswamy hills, the seer praised Shivkumar’s organizational skills and influenced the party’s dynamics in Karnataka.He further indicated in the understanding of pre-election between top leaders.He said, “Political leaders should respect their promise. If there is an agreement before the elections, it should be respected. It is not a royal approach asking Shivkumar to leave the post as the chairman of KPCC without fulfilling the promise,” he said.Endorsement can already complicate the delicate balance between the two Congress heavyweight, both prepared for the post -election after the CM. Eventually, the high command persuaded Shivkumar to settle for the deputy CM role.Reacting carefully, Shivkumar said that he respected the sentiments of both the public and the religious community, but made it clear that he would go through the party’s word.He said, “This is not wrong to express his wishes to party workers, seer, or public. We will follow what the party decides,” he asked reporters at his Kodihalli residence.Asked about Sir’s support and alleged leadership agreement, he refused to go into the details.“Why should I talk about it openly? It is between me and the party.
