India’s Test Captain has been a stunning series for Shubman Gill, breaking the 47 -year -old milestone and recorded his name in record books. Leading the fifth and final test against England at the Oval, India lagged the series 2–1 and needed a win to attract the level. Leading from the front, he has now scored 737* runs in the series – most by an Indian captain in a single test series. The previous record was organized by the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, who scored 732 runs against the West Indies in the 1978/79 series. Gill’s record-breaking moment came during his ongoing knock in the first innings of the final test, which continues a consistent run of the performance that includes the most surprising 269 with four centuries.
