New Delhi: England have made a change to play for the fourth Test against India, which replaces slow left -arm orthodox spinner Liam Dason in place of the injured Shoaib Bashir. The fourth test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy begins on 23 July in Old Trafford, Manchester, with England ahead of the five-match series 2–1.Bashir was excluded from the remaining part of the series after suffering from fracture to the index finger on his left hand. The injury occurred at 3 on the third Test at Lord’s, when he tried to stop a terrible drive from Ravindra Jadeja of India. Bashir later performed surgery, but will not play any further role in the series.Despite the injury shock, the 20-year-old off-spinner played an important role in England’s 22-run win at Lord’s, claiming the final wicket to seal the victory and put the hosts ahead in the series.In Bashir’s absence, 35 -year -old Dawson has recalled the test side. He last played a Test match in July 2017 – his third – against South Africa. Dawson returns to the back of performance in county cricket and bring valuable experience with both bat and ball.
