India will serve England in the five -match Test series starting on June 20 at Handingley in Leeds. Number 5 – Rahul Dravid (146 Oval, 2011)
In 2011, India made a terrible tour in England and lost the series 4–0. But a man continued to fight and it was Rahul Dravid, ‘Wall’. He was India’s best batsman in that series and scored in three centuries. His unbeaten 146 was special in the oval as he opened the innings and did not stay out till the end. He faced 266 balls and hit 20 fours. Even though India lost the match with an innings and the series was a whitewash, Dravid’s knock was reminiscent of his class and determination.
Number 4 – Rohit Sharma (127 in Oval, 2021)
Rohit Sharma finally shut down everything about his foreign record with a brilliant century in England. In the fourth test in Ull in 2021, Rohit scored 127 runs with patience and calm run. India was behind by 99 runs, but Rohit’s knock changed the match in India’s favor. He batted for 256 balls, hit 14 fours and broke a six. India won the match by 157 runs and ended series 2–2. This innings is still one of Rohit’s best in Tests.
No. 3 – KL Rahul (Lords in 129, in 2021)
KL Rahul had a treatment to see the century at Lord’s. In the second test of the 2021 series, he scored 129 runs and gave India a concrete start with Rohit Sharma. He set up a 123 -run inaugurated stand. Rahul batted for 250 balls, with 12 fours and one six. Thanks to his knock, India scored 364 runs in the first innings and later won the match by 151 runs. It is always special to score a century in Lord’s and Rahul did it in style.
Number 2 – Virat Kohli (149 Edgbaston, 2018)
Prior to the 2018 series, people said that Kohli could not score runs in England. He responded to everyone with a magnificent 149 in the first Test in Edgbaston. While India was struggling on 54/2, Kohli faced Anderson and fought like a true leader and fought. He hit 22 fours and a six, and almost single-form India kept India alive in the match. India lost the test from only 31 runs and series 4–1, but Kohli’s knock is still remembered as one of his best abroad.
No. 1 – Ajinkya Rahane (Lord’s in 103, 2014)
India’s only win in the 2014 series came to Lord’s and hero Ajinkya Rahane. On a pitch where the ball was moving a lot, Rahane played a smart and brave innings. He scored 103 runs with 154 balls, with 15 fours and six. He also formed a very important 90 -run partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Due to Rahane’s centenary, India scored 295 runs and later scored 95 runs. This victory at Lord’s is still one of India’s most famous foreign victory.
