India and Brazil signed six agreements, including a single one on fighting international terrorism and international crime, as PM Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with President Luiz Insio Lula Da Silva in the capital Brasilia. In his media remarks after the meeting, PM Modi underlined India’s position on terrorism as he said that both India and Brazil believe in supporters of terrorism and terrorism in “zero tolerance and zero double standards”.PM Modi said, “We believe that there is no place for ‘Dohre Karachandand’ on this issue. We strongly oppose the terrorists and their supporters.”India and Brazil signed agreements for cooperation in the exchange of renewable energy, digital solutions, intellectual property and classified information. Modi said that he set a target of $ 20 billion in bilateral trade and also focused on defense cooperation with Modi, stating that the two countries were looking at their defense industries in the indication of growing confidence among them.“Football about Brazil cricket and India is emotional. Whether the ball goes to the border or scoring a goal, when both are in the same team, a partnership of $ 20 billion is not difficult,” Modi said that India-Brazil relations should be “colorful like Brazilian’s carnival, such as football,”.Modi said that global South is the main priority for both democracy and also a moral responsibility. “At a time when the world faces stress and uncertainties, India-Brazilian relations are a strong pillar of balance and stability,” he said, both countries supported dialogue and diplomacy to resolve issues.Modi also discussed with the Lula expansion of the Indo-Markosur preference trade agreement for the benefit of both sides.
