India News gives pre-restless bail to Delhi HC NewsClic Chief

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to Prabir Purkastha, founder and editor of Newsclic, who was booked for receiving money for the spread of China through his news portal.HC relief for priests came into two separate investigations – one in claims of illegal foreign funding by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police, and the other in the alleged money laundering case by Ed. The order to grant anticipatory bail to the order of Justice Nina Bansal Krishna came to a group of applications filed by Purkayastha. The court also gave relief to NewsClic Director Pranjal Pandey in the foreign funding case filed by EOW. In 2021, HC enhanced interim security in the first cases by arresting Purakastha and Pandey.According to the FIR registered by EOW, Newsclic earned foreign direct investment for Rs 9.6 crore from Worldwide Media Holdings LLC USA during the financial year 2018-19 in violation of relevant law. Police accused the portal of overwall, fund turn and FDI laws of the portal of mass violation of the rules by the portal.
