The gathering came a day after India and Pakistan declared a ceasefire. At the meeting, National Security Advisor Ajit Dawal and Defense Staff Chief General Anil Chauhan were also present.A day earlier, the two countries reached an agreement for the ceasefire, but after a few hours, India accused Pakistan of violating the conditions of understanding on Saturday night and asked to address these violations and take “appropriate steps” to deal with the situation with “severity and responsibility”.But after a few hours, the situation cools down, even though residents of many border areas remain in a state of fear after shelling and drone incidents. All this began on 22 April with a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 25 Indians and 26 tourists, including a Nepali. Responding to the terrorist attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on 7 May, targeting nine terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).Pakistan responded with drone attacks targeting areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. These attacks were interrupted by Indian defense systems, but the possibility of widespread conflict between two nuclear-head neighbors increased.
