What happened
The collapse occurred around 12:44 pm local time. The witnesses suddenly described anarchy as the roof gave way, sending hundreds of feet for security.
Videos shared on social media start falling in a few moments of the roof before full collapse. Rescue teams reached the spot and worked for hours, pulling the remaining people from under heavy debris.
Some were still being found after about 12 hours.
Who are the victims?
The dead include the famous names in Dominican Public Life. Octavio dotelA former Major League baseball pitcher who played for 13 teams and won a world chain, died in collapse. He was 51 years old. His death was confirmed that earlier reports stated that he was rescued.
