Nevertheless, the backlash intensified due to Afridi’s earlier derogatory remarks about the Indian Army.On Sunday morning, the organizers officially confirmed the cancellation and issued a public apology: “We apologize again to hurting emotions and hope that people would understand that we all wanted to bring some happy moments for fans.”

2025 WCL began on 18 July with a conflict between England Champion and Pakistan Champion. India Champions will face South Africa champions on Tuesday, July 21.Ajay Devgan participated in matches in Edgbaston during the inaugural edition in 2024, defeating Pakistan in the final with India.
