Indian-American Congressman Krishnamurathi slammed Trump on freeze on student visa interviews, it is called ‘strategic blunder’

Indian American Congress Raja Krishnamurthy has criticized the Trump administration’s decision to free student visa interviews and consider strict social media screening for international students. He called it a “careless decision” that can harm the country’s economy and national security.Krishnamurthy also said that closing international students is a “strategic blunder” that weakens us global competition.“I strongly oppose the careless decision of Trump Administration to freeze new student visa interviews and consider social media undefined for international students. International students help run state -of -the -art research, fuel our universities, and build tomorrow’s industries, ”Krishnamurthy said.“These youth are not only scholars and new-intellectuals- they are important for America’s economic strength and national security. By developing the next generation of technologies and good-paying jobs, they help to ensure that the United States remains a global leader.”After his comment, US Secretary Marco Rubio ordered embassies and consulates to schedule new visa interviews for students. The Trump administration is also considering the need for students to pass through an extended vet of their social media activity. In a different step, Trump suggested that Harvard University should accept the number of foreign students at 15 percent. He claimed that the current figure, about 31 percent, were students from “very radical” areas.Trump said, “We have people who want to go to Harvard and other schools, but they cannot meet because we have foreign students.”“I want to make sure that foreign students are those who can love our country. We do not want to see shopping centers exploding. We do not want to see that kind of riots, and I will tell you that many of those students had not gone anywhere, many of those students were distressed due to the leftist leftist,” he said.
