Indian National, Gautam Santosh, two killed in a small plane crash in Canada; Consulate provides support; Causes under investigation

An Indian national, Gautam Santosh, was killed on Saturday evening, when a small commercial survey aircraft crashed shortly after the takeoff near India’s Consulate Deer Lake, Newfoundland in Toronto.The Piper PA -31 Nawazo aircraft, which is registered at which Ariel Survey Inc., went about one kilometer south of Deer Lake Regional Airport during a local flight, PTI cited CBC News.According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the aircraft took two people, a 54 -year -old pilot and a 27 -year -old passenger. Both were declared dead on the spot. The cause of the crash is under investigation.Consulate said in a post on X on Tuesday, “With deep grief, we mourn the tragic of an Indian citizen, Mr. Gautam Santosh, who lost his life in an accident, including a commercial survey aircraft near Dear Lake, Newfoundland in a post on Tuesday.It states that the mission is in close contact with the bereaved family and local authorities to provide all necessary assistance. “We expand our heartfelt condolences to our family during this difficult time,” said this.After the accident, the Trans-Canada highway near Deer Lake Airport was closed for several hours to allow emergency services access. Kisik Aerial Survey Inc., who was the owner of the aircraft, also expressed his condolences. The company owner Andrew Nemith said in a statement, “We are destroyed and heartbroken by this loss.” “Our thoughts and deep sympathy goes out to the families of the deceased and their loved ones.”“We will not release the names of any person associated with this incident, this information will be provided by the appropriate officials,” Nemith said. “The cause of the accident is being investigated by Canada’s Transport Safety Board and which will support that investigation and is possible in every way.”
