Indian nurse Nimish Priya, convicted of killing a Yemeni citizen, is to be executed in Yemen on 16 July, according to several media reports.Originally 37 -year -old Priya of Palakkad district of Kerala was sentenced to death for the murder of Yamani National Talal Abdo Mehdi, who was allegedly withdrawn her passport. According to court findings, Priya allegedly seduced Talal in an attempt to recover the document, but the dose proved fatal. The media report said that he and a Yemeni colleague, violation, destroyed the body and settled it in a water tank.Case under Hothi jurisdictionThe news agency PTI reported that the Yamani Embassy had earlier clarified that the case was mainly handled by Hurthi Militia, who controls Sana, where Priya is currently imprisoned.Priya was found guilty by a trial court in 2017. His death sentence was retained by the Supreme Judicial Council of Yemen in 2024, and was later approved by the President Rashad al-Alimi.
