IndiGo to start direct flights from Mumbai to Manchester, Amsterdam in July. Bharat News

Mumbai: Low-Cost Career Indigo will launch its first long-hall route from Mumbai on July 01, which will have flights three times a week to Manchester, United Kingdom. Flight to Manchester will be operated with Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner, making IndiGo the first carrier to offer a nonstop service between these two cities. Closed on heels, is another long destination, Amsterdam, which IndiGo plans to link three times a week with nonstop flights from Mumbai starting from July 02.The expansion marks the beginning of international development of IndiGo, supported by Boeing 787–9 aircraft from Norse, with future plans from 2027, including A321xlrs and A350 aircraft. IndiGo said that this is a system to lease four Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Norce Atlantic Airways. The inaugural Norse-operated flight for IndiGo began in March 2025 on the Mumbai-Bangkok route. The aircraft has 56 Indigostache seats in the 2x3x2 configuration with a 43 -inch seat pitch and 382 economy seats in 3x3x3 layout with 31 inch seat pitch.The airline said on Wednesday that flights were open to booking in channels, including the airline website www.goindigigo.in, mobile apps and travel partners. The airline said in a press statement, “The service will include hot food and beverages for all passengers.”Currently, Air India is the only Indian carrier to connect Mumbai to Europe. A decade ago, now-Defense Indian Carriers, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines also offered direct flights from Mumbai to Europe. Non-stop traffic from Mumbai to Europe is currently handled by foreign carriers including Air India and Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France, KLM etc.Indigo CEO, Peter Alber, said, “There is an important moment in our global expansion journey in Indigo’s long-hall fore.
