US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order by implementing an additional 25% tariff on India in response to a continuous purchase of Russian oil. He warned of potential imposition of uniform tariffs on other countries that directly or indirectly import oil from the Russian Federation.The tariff has been prescribed to be effective in three weeks and will be implemented on Thursday in addition to separate 25 percent of the duty to be effective.Here is the statement of the full White House:
- The President found that India is currently importing oil of the Russian Federation. Accordingly, to address the national emergency from the government of the Russian Federation of Russian Federation against Ukraine, it is imposing an additional 25% tariff on India’s imports on August 27, on August 27, due to direct or indirect imports of India’s Russian Federation’s oil oil.
