Industrialist Manoj Jaiswal gets 3 years RI in the case of cheating coal block

New Delhi: A CBI court in Delhi on Tuesday sentenced industrialist Manoj Kumar Jaiswal to use fake documents to three years rigorous imprisonment (RI) for using fake documents, which served as Mahuagari Coal Block in Jharkhand for JAS Infrastructure and Capital Private Limited, where he served as a managing director.Special Judge Sanjay Bansal imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on Jaiswal and Rs 2 crore on the company. The case is related to alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks to private companies between 2006 and 2009.After the sentence, Jaiswal filed an application in the Delhi High Court demanding suspension of punishment to allow time for appeal.The court said, “In view of the submissions made, the sentence of imprisonment given to the convict will be suspended for 60 days, and is admitted for bail to present an individual bond and to make a certain bond of Rs 1 lakh every Rs 1 lakh,” the court said.
