One of the most captivating aspects of franchise-based T20 league is a price tag that players are carried. IPL not only attracts attention for cricket, but also for high-up auction, where teams have spent crores on players, they believe that they can help win the trophy.
While some players justify their heavy -price tags with the match -winning performances, others fail to distribute. Mayank Yadav , Lucknow Super Giants (Rs 11 crore)
Mayank Yadav turned his head in IPL 2024 with his raw speed, regularly killed the speed above 150 kmph. He set a record for winning the back-to-back player of the match awards in his first two matches and even made his T20I debut for India after playing only four IPL games.
Recognizing their capacity, LSG maintained him for Rs 11 crore. However, injuries have once again placed the young pacer on the edge. Fortunately for LSG, Mayank has joined Rishabh Pant -led squad after withdrawal from BCCI and is expected to return soon.
Despite an inconsistent start, LSG has bounced back and currently sits outside the top four with five wins in eight matches. Mayank’s return may be a major increase with pushing for the playoff spots.
T natarajan , Delhi capitals (Rs 10.75 crore)
Known for his pinpoint yorker and cool under pressure, T Natarajan was a standout artist for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024, ending as his supreme wicket -taking with 19 scale. Delhi’s capitals all-in auction, which would make them Rs 10.75 crore.
Surprisingly, Natarajan has no appearance yet, in half the way through IPL 2025. With 67 wickets in 61 IPL Games, his experience should be a property, but DC’s current speed attack – led by Mitchell Starc, Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma – are performing well, and Natarajan is not considered 100% at the moment.
DC is seated comfortably in seven matches with five wins.

Do you think which player will have the biggest impact when they will finally play this IPL season?

Jacob Bethel , Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs 2.6 crore)
England’s Rising all-rounder Jacob Bethel was selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 2.6 crore after a breakout year, where he made his debut in all formats for England.
A dynamic left -handed batsman, easy spinner, and electric fielder, Bethel was last painted for England in an ODI in Nagpur earlier this year. Although RCB has shown a strong look-five of their eight matches are winning-they rely in foreign all-rounder slots on Liam Livingstone and now Romario Shepherd.
With the possibility of getting closer to business end and squad rotation, Bethel can still find a shot to contribute to this season.
Gerald Koetzi – Gujarat Titans (Rs 2.4 crore)
The young South African Pesar was purchased by Gujarat Titans for Rs 2.4 crore in 2024 after an impressive tenure with Mumbai Indians, where he took 13 wickets in 10 matches.
Despite its credibility and all-form international experiences, Koetzi has not yet broken GT’s playing. The Titans are flying high with five wins out of seven matches, thanks to their wild bowling lineup, led by spinners like Prasad Krishna, Mohammad Sirj and Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan.
Even the absence of Kagiso Rabada has not opened the door for Koetzi. However, as the league moves forward, injuries and fatigue can bring him into the headlines.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz , Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 2 crore)
Afghanistan’s hard-hitting opener and wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been with KKR since 2023 and was re-signed for Rs 2 crore in the mega auction. Despite being part of his setup for two sessions and playing 14 matches in total, Gurbaz has not played a single game this year.
KKR has opted to go with Quinton de Coke, which has been quite consistent with the top 97. With the defending champion at the bottom half of the table, the team management can hesitate to make harsh changes.
The probability of Gurbaz looks limited until D Coke Felt or KKR reshuffles their combination.
