Iran-Israel Conflict: Qatar shut down the airspace; Iran fired us missiles targeting air base in Al Udid

Qatar officials on Monday suspended their air traffic across the country, citing “security of their citizens, residents and visitors”.The Ministry of External Affairs insisted that they are closely and continuously “monitoring the situation” and coordinating with international partners.The Ministry of External Affairs said, “The competent officers declare temporary suspension of air traffic in the country’s airspace, as part of a set of precautionary measures based on development in the region,” said the Ministry of External Affairs.Qatar is located in 190 km (120 mi) south from Iran and is home to the largest military base in the United States in the region.The US embassy said on its website that “with an abundance of caution we recommend to give shelter to American citizens until next notice.”Shortly after the airspace closure, the explosions in Qatar were heard, Iran confirmed that it had attacked the US forces at Al Udid Air Base. Iran had fired 6 missiles targeting the US Air Base in Qatar.In the past, Iran has issued a threat against American forces stationed at Al Udid Air Base, with headquarters ahead of the US Central Command. Located in the Persian Gulf from Iran, Qatar has a diplomatic relationship with Tehran and jointly shares a huge offshore natural gas field with it.Bahrain, a close neighbor of Qatar, said on X that he has “temporarily transferred a portion of his employees to the local telework”.
