Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has convicted the current PM, Benjamin Netanyahu for failing to stop the October 7, 2023 attacks by Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, who triggers a deadly war in the Middle East.In an interview with AFP, Olmert said that US President Donald Trump should intervene in the current situation and tell Netanyahu, “enough.” He said that the United States has more influence on the Israeli government “All other powers kept together compared to all other powers,” and Trump “can create a difference.”“This is. I hope he (Trump) will do this. There is nothing that cannot happen to Trump. I don’t know what will happen. We have to expect, and we have to encourage him, ”said the former Prime Minister.America remains a major partner of Israel. It has approved billions of dollars to sell arms and military equipment to Israel, often to mold Israel with international pressure using its veto power in the United Nations.Olmert served as the Prime Minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009.He also suggested that Israel should condemn the continuation of war in Gaza as a “crime” and insisted that the two-state solution is the only way to end the conflict. He said that while the international community had initially accepted the argument of responding to Israeli’s 7 October attacks as an act of self -defense, the notion changed when Netanyahu chose to intensify military works in Gaza, rather than ending the war in March.Netanyahu is “his personal interests, which give priority about national interests,” Olmert alleged.“If there is a war that is not going to save the hostages, then really cannot do more than what has already been done against Hamas – and if, as a result, soldiers are being killed, hostage can be killed, and innocent Palestinians are being killed – then, in my mind, this is a crime,” Olmert said.“And this is something that should be condemned and not accepted,” he said.According to AFP Tally based on official data as a result of Hamas attack on Israel, 1,219 people died, mostly citizens. Palestinian militants kidnapped 251 hostages, of which 54 are built in Gaza, of which 32 Israel’s army says that they have died.

Future plans to end the decades -old Middle East Conflict:

Olmert, with former Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasir al-Kidwa, is planning to end the decades conflict between Israel and Palestinians by creating a Palestinian state with a safe Israel.According to the plan, both sides will swap 4.4 percent of the land. Israel will retain some parts of the West Bank where the Israeli settled already remain. In turn, Palestinians will receive the area for the future Palestinian state which is currently part of Israel.Prior to a meeting of this month in New York, France and Saudi Arabia co-assured towards recognizing a Palestinian kingdom, said that the plan is “practical, notable, relevant, valid and real.”Al-Kidwa, who will submit a plan with Olmert at a conference in Paris on Tuesday, organized by the Jean-Jores Foundation Think Tank, told the AFP that the proposal is “the only realistic and practical solution”.However, he said that people in both Israel and Palestinian areas still need to be assured – especially while the war continues.“The moment the war ends, we will see a different kind of thinking. We have to proceed with the acceptance of co -existence between the two sides, ”he said.He also said that serious progress is not possible under the current Israeli government or Palestinian leadership, under the leadership of President Mahmood Abbas, who have been in power for 20 years.“You have to get rid of both. And this is going to happen,” he said, Palestinian leadership “corrupt and ineffective.”
