Israel-Iran provokes: India says ‘deeply worried’; Urge restraint | Bharat News

New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a statement expressing deep concern over the growing tension between Israel and Iran after the recent Israeli attack on Tehran.India has called for restraint, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic channels to resolve the underlying issues.“We are deeply concerned over recent developments between Iran and Israel. We are closely monitoring the developed situation, including reports related to attacks on atomic sites. India urges both sides to avoid any escalatry move. The existing channels of dialogue and diplomacy should be used to work towards a de-eskalanation.”He said, “India enjoys close and friendly relations with both countries and is ready to expand all possible support. Our missions in both countries are in touch with the Indian community. All Indian citizens of the region are advised to take care, safe and follow local safety advice.”The struggle intensified in the early hours of Friday when Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities in Tehran. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded to the “serious punishment” promises, while the state media IRNA confirmed the casualties between military officials and scientists. This growth comes at an important time, as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recently censored Iran for the first time in two decades on lack of cooperation with inspectors. In response, Iran announced a plan to set up a third promotion site and upgrade its centrifuge technology. The situation is particularly critical as it was scheduled to discuss about Tehran’s nuclear program before the planned talks between Iran and the United States in Oman. While Iran calms its nuclear program, it is peaceful, Israel has consistently opposed Iran’s nuclear development, which is to prevent it from receiving nuclear weapons. The US administration was working towards a diplomatic solution, demanding an agreement that would prevent Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for restrictions.
