Israel to allow food in Gaza after two months of blockade

Israel will allow the “basic amount” of food in the Gaza Strip, the Prime Minister’s Office said on Sunday, after facing increasing pressure to raise the total blockade imposed more than two months ago.The announcement was made a few hours after the introduction of “broad ground operations” in a new rapid campaign in Gaza by military, and as Israel and Hamas were engaged in indirect talks on a deal to prevent the fight.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that on the recommendation of the Army, “the Israel will authorize the entry of a basic amount of food to ensure that a hunger crisis does not develop in the Gaza Strip”.Such a crisis will put the new operation of the army in danger, said, adding Israel to “will work to prevent Hamas from confiscating this humanitarian aid”.Israel said its blockade from March 2 was aimed at forcing the concessions from the Palestinian terrorist group, but the United Nations agencies have warned of a significant reduction of food, clean water, fuel and drugs.Last week, US President Donald Trump, an important colleague, admitted that “a lot of people are starving”, “We are going to take care of him”.French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barot called Israel after the latest announcement, to resume “immediate, large-scale and uncontrolled” of aid. The Israeli army announced on Sunday that the soldiers had “began wide ground operations throughout the northern and southern Gaza strip”, and “was currently being posted to major positions”.The ramp-up campaign, which Israel says the target of freeing hostages and defeating Hamas began on Saturday, as the two sides entered the indirect talks in Qatar on a deal.Netanyahu’s office stated that the negotiator Doha “was working to end every possibility for a deal – whether according to the Vitcoff framework or as part of ending the fight”.Steve Witchoff is a US Middle East messenger who has been involved in discussions.Netanyahu’s statement said that a deal would include “release of all hostages, exile of Hamas terrorists and disarmament of Gaza Strip”.Since the two -month ceasefire collapsed in March as Israel resumed its aggressive, the conversation held by Qatar, Egypt and the United States has failed to create a success.Netanyahu has opposed ending the war without Hamas’s total defeat, while Hamas batted to hand over his weapons.A Hamas Sutra, familiar with the talks, said the group was “ready to release all Israeli hostages in a batch, provided that a broad and permanent ceasefire agreement was reached”, but Israel “wants to leave its prisoners in a batch or in exchange for a temporary trus.”

The army later issued a clearance order before an attack to several parts of Gaza, warning that it would “start a powerful strike on any area used to launch rockets”.On the ground, Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmood Basal told AFP that the ongoing Israeli airstrikes since the initial hours resulted in “at least 50 people killed by Sunday afternoon”.He said that 22 people died and at least 100 others were injured in an attack on tents that shelter the Palestinians displaced in Al-Mavasi in the Southern Gaza Strip.AFP TV footage showed people treating the injuries through waste shelters and rescue teams.“All my family members have gone.
