Italy PM says that Gaza humanitarian situation ever ‘inappropriate’

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Wednesday that the human situation in Gaza was “ever more dramatic and unfair”, insisting that he had repeatedly urged Israel to find a way to end the struggle.“It is a request that I renew in front of a human situation in Gaza today that I have no difficulty in defining rapidly dramatic and inappropriate,” Meloni told Parliament.Meloni’s comments came a day later when French President Emmanuel Macron called Gaza to block humanitarian aid to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s behavior as “embarrassing”. In Parliament’s questions, she was suppressed by an MP to condemn Netanyahu’s actions, and asked if she would introduce sanctions against Israel or remember its ambassador. Meloni said that in recent months with Netanyahu, his conversation was “often having difficult conversations in which I always mentioned the urgency of finding a way to end enmity, the international law, the need to respect international human law”.He said: “We did not agree with many options, we do not agree with the recent proposals of the Israeli government and we have not failed to say so with our negotiaters.”He said, “however, it was not Israel who started enmity and a design, as I have said many times, the cruelty behind the inhuman attacks by Hamas and directed against the hostages. ,On Tuesday, Macron said “What is Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, is unacceptable … there is no water, no medicine, not injured, doctors cannot go in. What he is doing is shameful”.His criticism on Wednesday accused Netanyahu of siding with “a deadly Islamist terrorist organization” and echoing with “its disgusting propaganda”. Netanyahu said in a statement, “Macron is once again demanding that Israel surrendered and rewarded terrorism.”
