Srinagar: The historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar was closed and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday kept the house under the arrest of the house on Eid-ul-Dada, offering prayers to the devotees and giving an opportunity to give an opportunity to many people including CM Omar Abdullah.Anjuman and Jamia Mosque Srinagar, who watched after the mosque management, said that Gates was closed on Saturday morning and police were deployed outside. CM said, “I have no idea what such decisions are.”Omar urged the officials to trust the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that “these are the same people who came forward after the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April and unevenly condemned it”. The CM called the “The village” to reconsider such tasks in future, possibly asked for the administration of LG appointed by the Center.Mirwaiz Umar Farooq closed the mosque. “Nevertheless, Kashmir awakens for tragic reality: no Eid prayer in Idgah, and Jama Masjid closed for the 7th year. In a Muslim -biggest area, people who relax on their most important religious opportunities, who talk of shame!”The Jammu -Kashmir Police and Home Department did not issue any statement on the closure of the mosque and Mirwaiz in custody.PDP President and former CM Mehboba Mufti joined the condemnation, accusing Omar’s government of being a “audience”. “Jammu and Kashmir is the only Muslim-Bahul region in the country, and yet it is here that a major mosque is closed on Eid, denying their rights to offer prayers to people. If the government claims that everything is normal in J&K, why Mirwaiz is not allowed to offer prayers,” said Mehboba.Asked about the sanctions, BJP Executive and Jammu -Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Darkshan Andraby rejected the comment. “Jamia Mosque does not fall under Waqf Board,” she said.
