Former Indian wicketkeeper-boss Dip Dasgupta has suggested to replace Karun Nair with B Sai Reformson for the last two Test matches against England, as Nair has struggled to establish himself in number three in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series.Nair, who returned to the Test team after a gap of eight years, has scored only 131 runs in three matches and remains the only top four batsmen from the team without half a century in the series.
Sai Sudarson, who made her Test debut in Leeds Scoring Zero and 30, was later prepared to bat to Edgbaston and Lord’s all -rounder Washington Sundar for Lord’s matches.“In the playing XI, you don’t want more than one change. If there is only one, it will be with Sai Sudarshan in place of Karun Nair. Because Karun Nair has not scored any run. He has started, but has not converted them into a big score. I also believe that he does not look either comfortable at the crease, “Dasgupta said on Gehotstar.He said, “And secondly, Sai Reformson is a young player. If you want to invest in this England series, you will invest in a small player. Karun Nair has started both Test matches, but he did not see the assurance,” he said.“If you want to build further, you can also invest in a person like Sai Sudarshan. Because after that, I don’t know that you will return to a series in England. So when you have two tests left, invest in Sai Reformson,” Dasgupta concluded.India currently lags 1–2 behind the five-match series.The Indian team led by Shubman Gill will aim to level the series in the fourth Test starting in Old Trafford, Manchester on 23 July.The fifth and final Test match will be played at the Oval in London from 31 July to 4 August.
