A federal judge in Florida refused to ignore the first Jeffrey Epstein investigation, rejecting the request made by the Trump administration on Wednesday. US District Judge Robin Rosenberg ruled that the grand jury content from 2005 and 2007 does not meet any exception under the US law that would allow it to release it to the public. The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a request last week, claiming that transparency was necessary to address the increasing speculation among Donald Trump’s supporters. Many of them believe that a deliberate attempt was made to hide Epstein’s customers’ identity and suppress evidence, including alleged videos of misuse. In 2008, Epstein reached a petition with federal prosecutors in Florida, in which the major federal allegations survived by blaming the low prostitution crimes. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanches also asked the courts in both Florida and New York to ignore the grand jury tape against Epstein and his colleague Ghisline Maxwell. He argued that the public had the right to know the entire limit of the matter.Epstein was arrested again in 2019 on sexual trafficking charges, but died in New York Jail a month later. His death occurred a suicide. Maxwell was later convicted and sentenced to 20 years.
