The 1997 comedy ‘Ishq’ directed by Indra Kumar was a big hit at the box office. In the lead roles with Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Kajol and Ajay Devgan, the film became popular for its humor and songs. But recently, Kajol revealed that his time on the set was not as funny as it was seen on the screen.In an interview with The Mashable, Kajol talked about feeling alone during the long shooting days, as Aamir and Juhi shared a close bond with director Indra Kumar. It left Kajol and Ajay outwards, and sometimes, she felt herself completely.Kajol said, “Aamir was very friendly with the director and so Juhi was so these three were a close knit group and then Ajay and me. And finally, it was only me. It was only on the set. It was a few days on the set when I was not ready to talk to anyone,” Kajol said.300 days on the set were too muchKajol also revealed that ‘Ishq’ took 300 days to complete. Long -term schedule and daily shooting hours made things even more difficult for him. “We spent 300 days together. It took 300 days to make that film. We do not know what we did for so many days. We used to spend 8-10 hours on the set every day. I can’t talk to all of them all the time. I can try to be social but I can’t talk constantly,” he explained. Even though Kajol is known for being outgoing, he said some quiet times are needed to recharge even Extroverts.A bond was born with Ajay DevganAlthough the group’s dynamics on the set left her, Kajol shared that she eventually became close to Ajay Devgan. His bond strengthened during the filming of ‘Ishq’. While they worked together in ‘Hulchul’ (1995), the film brought him closer. Two years after the release of ‘Ishq’, Kajol and Ajay got married in 1999. Today, they have been married to 26 years and they are parents of daughter Nisa and Son Yug.On the work front, Kajol will be seen next time in a mythical horror film ‘Ma’ directed by Vishal Furia, released on 27 June 2025.
