The President of Mexico says that he rejected the plan to send us to soldiers across the border

Mexico City: Mexican President Claudia Shinbam said on Saturday that US President Donald Trump proposed to send American troops to Mexico to help fight drug smuggling, but he rejected it.
His comment for supporters in Eastern Mexico was published a day earlier in response to a Wall Street Journal article, describing a stressful phone call last month, allegedly pressurizing him to accept a big role for the US Army in combating drug cartel in Mexico.
“He said,” How can we help you fight drug smuggling? I propose to come to the United States Army and help you. ” And you know what I said to him?
He said: “Sovereignty is not for sale. Sovereignty is loved and defended.”
White House National Security Council spokesman James Hewitt said in a statement later on Saturday that Trump worked with the President of Mexico “to achieve the safest South -West limit in history.”
The statement said, “Dangerous foreign terrorist organizations, however, endanger our shared security and drugs and crime, threatening American communities across the country.” “President Crystals are clear that Mexico should combat these gangs and cartels and the United States is already ready to assist and expand close cooperation between our two countries.”
The US military presence has steadily increased on its southern border with Mexico in recent months, to increase the role of the army in increasing the flow of migrants following Trump’s order in January.

But Shinbam’s hardline stance on Saturday indicated that American pressure for unilateral military intervention will put him and Trump in the course of confrontation after months of cooperation on immigration and business.
“We can work together, but you in your area and us in yourself,” Shinbam said.
