New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first inaugurate the new Common Central Secretariat buildings along the Kartavya Path on Wednesday. The building named Kartavya Bhawan -3 is part of the Central Vista redevelopment project and will be home to several major central government ministries and departments.The video of the new building and the preparation of the opening has been shared online before the incident.In addition to the departments of personnel and land resources, the new facility will accommodate home matters, petroleum and natural gas, external affairs and many other important departments including rural development. This is an important change, especially for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Personnel, which has been operated from the prestigious North Block in Raisina Hills for nearly 90 years.Over the next few months, the Finance Ministry is expected to move from the Northern Block to another Kartavya Bhavan. In the later phase, the Ministry of Defense and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will also shift from the South Block, the upcoming Yuj Yugan will clear the place for the India Museum.As part of the large central Vista scheme, the government has proposed 10 Kartavya expressions with stretch. Two additional buildings are expected to be completed by next month, allowing further transfer to ministries and departments.According to the PMO, Kartavya Bhawan -3 extends to about 1.5 lakh square meters, with two basement levels and seven floors. This includes energy-saving features, such as roof solar panels are capable of generating more than 5.3 lakh electricity annually and are charging stations for electric vehicles. This feature is designed to be enabled, with ID card-based access, integrated monitoring and a centralized command system.
