Kejriwal louds ‘honest’ AAP rule, says that previous governments ‘ruined Punjab’

Accusing the previous governments of ruining “Punjab”, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that a “honest” rule led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was working for the welfare of the people. He appreciated his party’s government for strict work against drug smugglers and bringing “education revolution” in the state. Kejriwal was addressing a gathering on the occasion of martyrdom day of mythological freedom fighter Udham Singh. The AAP chief pays tribute to the martyr Udham Singh Memorial with the first manner. Kejriwal also blamed the previous governments for the problem of drug threat in the state. Taking potshots in Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP, he alleged, “The way his (previous) governments destroyed Punjab, government schools and hospitals, corruption was everywhere, he looted money.” Referring to the tenure of the AAP government in the state, Kejriwal said, “The situation in Punjab has started improving in the last three years.” On the state government’s anti -drug drive, Kejriwal said that drug smugglers are being arrested and placed behind bars. He said that the backbone of the drug supply network has been broken and the way this anti-drug campaign has been launched is no parallel in contemporary Indian history. Without someone’s name, the AAP chief said that the most notorious and frightened drug Lord Lord was placed behind bars by the state government. Kejriwal further said that exemplary action will be taken against such people who ruined the future of our future generations, none of them will be spared for such heinous crimes. The former Delhi Chief Minister said that Punjab has seen “revolutionary” changes in every region under the AAP rule. He said, “Today, an education revolution is going on in Punjab. Good results (of government schools) are coming. Children of poor families are now joining IITs and they are becoming engineers, doctors and advocates. The people of Punjab were never expecting such a government,” he said. The water of the canal is now reaching the end of the tail of the villages, the AAP national convenor said, “During the previous governments, farmers had to wake up to switch to their motors at night (to irrigate their crops).” “But today, farmers are getting eight hours of power supply in the day time and this is happening for the first time,” he said. Kejriwal said that work on the construction of 20,000 km of rural roads in the state will start from September. Increasing his attack on previous governments, Kejriwal said that he claimed lack of funds to do development works. “We never said that there is no money. This is the same money, the same budget, the same officer but the people running the governments have changed. This is the AAP government, which is an honest government. We are doing all your work, “he said. Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 85 crore to give a facelift to Shaheed Udham Singh Wala Town, the AAP leader said that the legendary freedom fighter made the highest sacrifice for the independence of the country. He said that India’s freedom struggle saw countless sacrifices for the country, which to ensure the welfare of weak and deprived classes to take out a egalitarian society, he said. However, Kejriwal said that it is unfortunate that even after 75 years of independence, no of his aspirations have been fulfilled as those who come to power have misused their right to loot money. Speaking at the event, Mann said that it is the duty of the state government that they pay tribute to such mythological martyrs who lived their lives for the sake of the country. The Chief Minister said that the naming of airports, universities and other institutions in the name of these prestigious martyrs is important to end their magnificent heritage. Mann said that the AAP is tirelessly trying to feel the dreams of mythological martyrs, it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that this government is making concerted efforts in this regard. He said that the state government is making efforts to ensure the widespread development of the state and the prosperity of its people. The Chief Minister also talked about ‘Mukh Minister Sehat Yojna’, which will provide cashless medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh for each resident family in Punjab. Punjab is the first state in the country to offer such comprehensive healthcare coverage, which will reduce the financial burden on the public by ensuring quality health services. He said that the youth of the state have been given 55,000 government jobs so far, AAM man clinics have been opened to provide quality health services to people, schools have been renewed in schools and reaching the canal water to the end of the tail to benefit the farmers.
