New Delhi: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday addressed concerns about the new income tax bill, which were set to be presented in the Lok Sabha on Monday, stressing that it included all the amendments suggested by the selection committee and maintained the essence of the original bill.“Hard work and suggestions made in the last six months will be reflected in the new Income Tax Bill, 2025, which the Finance Minister will present on Monday,” Rijiju said. The minister said that the apprehension about the bill on social media is ill because the new bill will include all the changes suggested by the selection committee and which has been accepted by the government. Rijiju said, “This is a general parliamentary process when there are many amendments to the bill already introduced.”In a statement, Union Minister Rijiju said that for any amendment to a bill for any amendment, the member of the House or the person who introduces the bill (FM in this case) must transfer each amendment individually, and for that purpose, he will have to find the permission of the first Lok Sabha speaker for each modification. “Subsequently, the amendment is transferred to the idea by LS. Then when agreed to amend the house, the modification is again considered as part of the bill. Thus, three movements have to be transferred for each amendment, “the Union Minister said.
