New Delhi: In a disturbing details from the gang rape case at South Calcutta Law College, police said CCTV footage confirmed that one of the accused, Zab Ahmed abbreviated the crime site to buy an inhaler for the victim. He went to a medical store to buy an inhaler after relieving breath during the alleged attack.According to investigators, footage of a nearby medical shop showed Zee buying an inhaler at the victim’s request, after his deteriorating condition inside the security guard’s room where the attack took place on the evening of June 25.“The victim said that she had begged for medical help after falling ill during torture. The accused refused to take him to the hospital, but received an inhaler from a pharmacy. She felt temporarily better, but torture continued, ”a senior official told the news agency PTI.The owner of the pharmacy told the police that the Zab tried to divide the payment, partially in cash and partially through UPI, but eventually paid the entire amount online. Investigators have documented the transaction and match it over time.Meanwhile, medical reports have revealed a mark of fresh nail scratches on the body of the main accused, Monojit Mishra, which the victim reflects resistance during the attack. A police source told PTI, “Such injuries are in line with the conflict.”The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has revealed that after the incident, the Vice Principal of the college in the morning, Dr. Contacted Naina Chatterjee. Since then both have been questioned about their conversation.Investigators are also interrogating 16 persons, most of the students, on June 25, were seen in the college campus through CCTV footage after class hours. It was questioned on Tuesday.Kolkata Commissioner of Police Manoj Verma confirmed that digital, circumstantial and medical evidence is still aligned with the official complaint of the victim. “The matter is extremely sensitive. But I can confirm that the FIR was arrested within 12 hours,” he said.Three people, Monojit Mishra, Zab Ahmed, and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, are in custody, with a security guard, Pinaki Bandyopadhyay, who was on duty during the attack. The police have demanded a 10-day expansion of their remand.In addition, police custody of three Acused has been extended till 8 July.
