New Delhi: A police officer allegedly slapped a shopkeeper in the middle of the road, causing him to collapse and lose consciousness, according to the social media post by NGO Nessimindia Council for men’s cases.The shocking video was widely shared in several social media platforms, in which many users condemned it as an example of police cruelty. The original clip shared by the Mains Rights NGO has seen more than 1 million times.According to the video, Kota police show Pushpendra Bansiwal slapped the shopkeeper so hard that he immediately fainted. It has been alleged that SHO asked the shopkeeper to take out a bike parked in front of his shop in Kathunipol area of Kota, Rajasthan. The shopkeeper allegedly told SHO that it was not his bike and it was closed, so he could not move it. After this exchange, SHO allegedly lost his temper and brutally attacked the shopkeeper, along with other policemen.Addressing the alleged police cruelty, the NGO’s post called the authorities “khaki goons” and questioned: “What else can we expect from these khaki goons?”In the video, the man can be forcefully dragged by his collar towards a police van as crowd watches. SHO slaps him and tries to push him into the van, but the man can be kept inside. The police is trying to revive him, but he is unconscious.The incident allegedly took place on 29 May. The NGO questioned why no action was taken against the officials so far.Criticizing Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, a user commented: “Can Honorable CM @Bhajanlalbjp tell us which law of the law allows a policeman to slap someone for wrong parking? Does it really train police personnel – they are unconscious to slap someone?”Another user said: “This policeman should be suspended! It is pure goons and misuse of power and uniform!”Meanwhile, the official handle of Kota City Police has assured that an investigation is going on.
