Kolkata: According to a new study by the University of Calcutta (CU) and a new study by the Institute of Breeding Medicine, working for a long time with laptops in the lap and placing mobile phones in the trouser pocket, male infertility and even impotence, which challenges the old research, which challenges the chronic research connecting the spermatozoa. The study conducted by CU’s genetics research unit and medical institutes, based on lifestyle, workplace risk factors, food habits and addictions, entered the statistical, molecular and genetic analysis of samples collected between 1,200 men between 20 and 40, if any.“Data showed that many of them store mobile phones in their trousers pockets for more than five hours or work hours with laptops placed on their laps,” said Joology Associate Professor Sujay Ghosh, who led the research team. Analysis revealed a significant relationship between radiation risk and increasing risk of ezospheric in genetically susceptible individuals, especially in people under 30. “The results indicated that those who quietly carry some genetic mutations, at least 10 times more than those who face risk of infertility, which do not,” Ghosh said. Of the 1,200 people selected for the study, 708 had azospermia (absence of sperm), while 640 others had a healthy sperm calculation. Conclusions refute many studies worldwide, with no decisive evidence about mobile phone radiation, which leads to infertility. A recent paper of the University of Utah in the US states that “sperm count can change from hours to hour, day -day and month to month”.
