Las Vegas Strip Shooting: Two people shot; Police believe the attack was targeted

Two people were shot dead late on Sunday near the Belagio fountain on the Las Vegas strip.Police believe that this was a targeted attack after a social media dispute, a New York Times report.The suspected gunman was identified as a 41 -year -old manual joy, which on Monday replaced himself to a police station in Henderson. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Ruiz is expected to be accused of two cases of murder with a deadly weapon.Understander Andrew Walsh told reporters at a press briefing that the victims and suspects “knew each other and were engaged in a struggle on social media before shooting first.” He said that the quarrel took place in “various types of social media platforms”.The shooting occurred near Belgio Resort and Casino at around 10:40 pm local time on Las Vegas Bulleward. Police officers who were patrolling the area at the time, heard the sound of bullets and reached the spot, where they found two persons on the pavement with wounds of bullets. He was declared dead by medical personnel on the spot.Footage of the event, widely shared online and verified by Storyful, is looking at a man in the camera because the crowd follows him with the pavement. Another man is seen firing a weapon wearing a hat and sunglasses, while a woman tries to intervene. The video has about seven gunshots audible, as buyers run into the picture or fall to the ground in panic.The police described the shooting as a “isolated event” and said it was not a random work of violence. Police said in a statement, “It is believed that the suspect and the victim knew each other.”Until Monday morning, the court record did not give a list of a lawyer for Ruiz, and the Clarke County Public Defender’s office stated that it was not clear whether they had a legal representation.
