New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused a lawyer, sentenced to 18 months imprisonment to use the derogatory language in 2015, so that the humility of a judicial officer in a Delhi court could be angered and already dismissed his petition to reduce the gel period six months in advance.Advocate, Sanjay Rathore said with a partial working day bench of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Manmohan that he was the only breadwinner of his old parents, wife and two children involved in the family and he was repenting about the incident. The bench said that Delhi HC has already directed the sentences (18 months for an annoying of a woman and three months for two other challan crimes), thus reduced the total period between two years to 18 months. It asked the advocate to surrender within two weeks to serve the remaining period of imprisonment.Justice Manmohan, who was the CJ of Delhi HC before appointment as SC Judge, said, “In Delhi, women judicial officers include about 50% of the working strength of judges in the trial court. If their dignity is not protected, it will create an unsafe atmosphere in the court”.
