Kuwait has officially begun to implement an essential electronic travel permit system for private sector migrants under Article 18 of the Housing Act of foreigners. Within a few hours of the launch, more than 36,000 applications were submitted, indicating extensive awareness and readiness from employers and workers.
How new rule works

Despite the new mandate, the Kuwait International Airport handled a high amount of summer journey smoothly.

- While the airport experienced a huge crowd, the new regulation did not ban passenger flows, nor did it delay the processes significantly.
Officials, including the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Ministry of Internal and various airlines, have implemented an integrated logistic scheme to ensure easy departure and reduce the waiting time.
Airlines issues warnings on compliance
Airlines have started issuing advice for visa holders to work, reminding them that:
- The failure to secure the exit permit approved by the employer will result in their flight reservation as a result of their failure.
- No compensation or alternative booking will be provided in such cases.
- Passengers are fully responsible for checking all documents:
